Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a state of emergency in many areas of the state, particularly along the Gulf Coast, as meteorologists warned of possible flash floods and landslides across the eastern Yucatan Peninsula and western Cuba, with the weather system expected to shut down completely. A tropical storm that turned Mexico's shore into it in the following hours.

The National Hurricane Center issued a statement on Sunday, as reported by the Associated Press of America, warning that the Florida Gulf Coast and the Panhandle could experience dangerous storms, heavy rains, and strong winds due to potential weather fluctuations.

DeSantis' emergency alert covers 33 of the state's 67 counties across the Gulf Coast, from Fort Myers in the southwestern city to Panama City in the Panhandle.

According to the Hurricane Center, there is a 70% chance that the system will turn into a tropical storm by tomorrow, Monday, and a 90% chance in general, with the current model naming it "Adalia" if no other tropical storms have formed before it, and the forecast models do not show a center that is close to areas of southwest Florida where deadly Hurricane Ian hit last year.
